I call my style offbeat indie. Offbeat in the sense that, there's a giant chunk of the polished world that I never seemed to resonate with. I like things with texture that are rough around the edges. Things that are medium in presentation and extremely intense under the surface. People who are strange and walk unique paths in life. Casually unusual. It's a sense and a feeling that's hard to put words to. Anyway... that's Grand Commander.

I played progressive instrumental music for many years before Grand Commander, with a focus on bass guitar. In 2017, it was time for a change, and Grand Commander was born. I started writing songs and decided to sing. I decided I would release whatever I could complete alone in my home studio. Over the next year tons of songs poured out, including Skele and I Hope You Die in a Fire. Songwriting became an outlet for all sorts of life issues I was dealing with. These songs found an audience, and it's been the thrill of my life meeting people from all over world through music.
